The list of 2014 American Music Awards nominees indicates that things are changing in a big way. Country music is absolutely taking over, as Luke Bryan has been nominated for a huge multi-genre award!

The Artist of the Year category was expanded to now include 10 nominees. Bryan is one of the many artists in the category, but he'll face some serious competition in Beyoncé, Pharrell Williams and Katy Perry, to name a few.

The 42nd annual awards show includes four solid country categories. For Favorite Country Male Artist, Jason Aldean, Blake Shelton and Bryan are nominated, while Miranda Lambert, Kacey Musgraves and Carrie Underwood have earned Favorite Country Female Artist nominations.

The Favorite Country Band, Duo or Group slot is also full of talented competition in the Eli Young Band, Florida Georgia Line and Lady Antebellum. Garth Brooks' 'Blame it on My Roots: Five Decades of Influences,' Eric Church's 'The Outsiders' and Brantley Gilbert's 'Just as I Am' albums are all nominated in the Favorite Country Album category.

The 2014 AMAs will air live from Los Angeles' Nokia Theater on Nov. 23.
