Our April Veteran of the Month for April is Gary Nelson of Monticello.  Gary, thank you so much for your service to our nation!

Gary's neighbor and friend, Rebecca, nominated him not only because of his service to our country but because of his dedication to helping others.  Here's what Rebecca wrote to us:

Gary deserves this award because he served in the United States Army during Vietnam. His job was technical troop support.  He attended basic training at Fort Leonard in Wood, Missouri.

After he got out of the Army, he settled down and had a family.  He is a truck driver and a farmer as well.  Gary is a great role model and has had a huge impact on my life.  He has taught me a so much about farming, truck driving and life in general.

Not only is he a neighbor, he's a great friend and I have also adopted him as a grandfather.  I nominated him as a big thank you for serving our country.

Gary, from all of us here at 98 Country, we appreciate your service to our country and your continued dedication to helping others is admirable and no doubt, appreciated!

If you have a special veteran in your life be sure to nominate them to be our next Veteran of the Month!
