Each Wednesday at 8 a.m. I join Cindy and Doug for Country Classic Flashback.  We take a trip down memory lane to highlight a country legend.   This week we are featuring two of them, George Jones and Tammy Wynette.

George was born on September 12, 1931 in a log cabin in Saratoga, Texas.  He was the youngest of eight children.  He passed away on April 26, 2013.

Tammy Wynette was born on May 5, 1942.  To country music she was one of the biggest selling female singers and an icon for her generation.  She died on April 6, 1998.

George and Tammy were married in 1968.  The two had huge success as solo artists but it was their duets that rocked the country music world.  Their hits include songs such as The Ceremony, Let's Build a World Together, Two Story House and Golden Ring.  The couple divorced in 1975.

They have one daughter together, Tamala Georgette.  Today, she goes by Georgette Jones and is a country artist as well.

Tune in every Wednesday at 8 a.m. for the Country Classic Flashback.  It's brought to you by Midwest Machinery in Sauk Rapids, with eight other locations in Central Minnesota.
