98 Country Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight: T.G. Sheppard

Warner Bros / WEA

T.G. Sheppard never graduated from high school.  He ran away from home at 15.  Wanting to become involved in the music business in Memphis, Tennessee. T.G. became very close friends with Elvis Presley.

In 1977, Sheppard signed with Warner Bros. Records.  He had a series of Top Ten releases and ten number one songs.  The biggest included, “Last Cheater’s Waltz,” followed by “I’ll Be Coming Back For More,” and “I Loved ‘Em Every One.”

In his early years, Sheppard tried pop music using the name Brian Stacy.  He opened shows for the Beach Boys and other pop groups.
Sheppard will be on stage at Rollie’s Rednecks and Longnecks in Sauk Rapids on Sunday September 25th at 6:00 pm.  But this Sunday morning at 11, you should join me for T.G. Sheppard on the Country Classic Spotlight.
