Airport Day is a FREE community event that is put on annually by the SCSU Aviation Ambassadors, a nonprofit student organization.  The goal of Airport Day is to bring awareness of aviation and the local airport to the community.  The event typically has activities for children that are educational, hands on, and meet scout requirements for merit badges.  There are also displayed aircraft and other machinery that is used to operate an airport and the aviation industry.

Airport Day allows both children and adults the opportunity to connect with their local airport and to see how the aviation industry affects their community both economically and recreationally.  This is one of the few times many community members have to walk out onto the airport surface and get a true feeling of what actually happens at an airport.  It is our hope that this year we will have more general aviation aircraft on display as it is advertised as a fly-in in multiple publications.  If successful the fly-in will bring in a wide variety of smaller airplanes that many people have not seen in person or know exist.  Other displays will include helicopters, fire trucks, snow removal equipment, and business aircraft.
