American Idol producers are shaking things up this season and introducing a new segment they're reportedly calling "Sing for Your Life."

Sources say the 40 contestants who get to Hollywood will be given an all-or-nothing chance to make it to the finals. The contestants will get to sing one song, with judges making cuts once the round is over. What isn't known yet is whether the group of 40 will be cut all the way down to 12 finalists, or whether the judges will just get rid of a few wannabes.

“Sing for Your Life”? So, do the losers get fed to the crocodiles?

American Idol moves to Wednesdays and Thursdays starting with the Season 10 Premiere Wednesday & Thursday, January 19 and 20 at 7pm on FOX.

And I’m rooting for the crocodile.
