Today around 5:30, turn your eyes toward the sky and you'll see a piece of history pass by. The Asteroid 2005 YU55 will pass close enough to Earth to hopefully be seen by the naked eye.

This asteroid isn't expected to strike the Earth's surface, but will be cool to see as it flies over. It is the size of an aircraft carrier. It will come within 200,000 miles of the Earth's surface this evening. To put that into perspective, the moon is roughly 238,000 miles away.

According to NASA, the last time this asteroid came near us was 200 years ago! Now you see why it is a piece of history! Look up this afternoon, just don't call the police to report a UFO!
