The two hosts of the 2011 CMA Awards (and two of country music’s biggest stars), Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood, took to the stage at the Bridgestone Arena during Wednesday night’s show for a performance of their No. 1 hit duet, ‘Remind Me.’

Good news for Lonestar fans. Next year, the band’s original lead singer, Richie McDonald, will return to the group — best know for hits ‘Amazed’ and ‘I’m Already There’ — to mark 20 years of making music together. In addition to a tour to commemorate their anniversary, Lonestar will also release a brand-new album with vocals by McDonald.
Lady Antebellum haven’t even launched the first leg of their Own the Night Tour yet, but they are already gearing up for the second leg in 2012. The new arena dates run from January 27 in Tulsa, Okla. through June 29 in Indianapolis, Ind., and will feature Darius Rucker and Thompson Square sharing opening act duties.
Sunday evening (October 16), the best of the best in Nashville’s songwriting community gathered at the Renaissance Hotel in the heart of Music City, where dozens of tunesmiths were recognized at the 41st Anniversary Hall of Fame Dinner and Induction Ceremony. The top honors at the invite-only event went to Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, John Bettis, Thom Schuyler and Allen Shamblin, who were all inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame.
Condolences go out to the family and friends of Charlie Daniels Band member Joel ‘Taz’ DiGregorio, who was killed in a car accident Wednesday night (October 12) just outside of Nashville. Taz, 67, was on his way to bus call late Wednesday when he wrecked his car along I-40 in Cheatham County. The keyboardist died as a result of the injuries he sustained in the single-car accident.
