Cindy Wear

After many years on the east coast (and one year in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado) I’m happy to be closer to my family in Minnesota! This is where I grew up (Glyndon), went to school, and started my radio career. My boyfriend Jay (we’ve been together so long, I call him my husband without the paperwork) is such a good guy, he packed up all of his beloved Philadelphia Eagles gear and moved here with me. :O) Will he ever bleed purple like most of us? Probably not, but he will cheer on the Vikings as long as they aren’t playing the Eagles. I love every kind of animal ever created. We have rescued and fostered many throughout the years and I hope to continue that work here. My favorite moments are time with family and we never get enough time with Jay’s son Jem! We enjoy community theatre, sports, festivals, hiking with the dogs (Tito, Neena and Ray. Okay, Ray is our 18 year old blind Chihuahua, so he doesn’t really hike) and exploring new places.

New Online Dating Rules?

I can't keep up. Do this, don't do that. It seems that the rules change every few months when it comes to just about anything. I say make your own rules!

Both Doug and I met our significant others online! And if that isn't proof that it works, no matter what the rules, then I'm not sure what is. But apparently, some felt the rules needed to be tweaked, so here we go. They don't look much different than the old rules though.........

Some Midseason TV Shows Worth Watching!

Are there certain shows that you wish were on all year round? The first one that comes to mind for me is "Drop Dead Diva". Best show ever! It's on Lifetime and I think it only comes around in the summer. What a shame. It's the best story line and just a fun show to watch. When I saw the list of new shows starting soon, I was hoping that this show would be included, but looks like I'll have to wait. There are some other good ones coming up though!

Things To Do In The Snow!

Since moving back to Minnesota, after many years on the east coast, I have found the cold weather to be invigorating! Some call me crazy, but it's true. Ask me again at the end of February, and I'll probably tell you I can't wait for it to warm up. However, I have decided that since we are now in Minnesota, it's better to embrace the snow and colder weather, and make the best of all the opportunities that those who live in warmer climates don't have! Here are a few things I want to try. If not this winter, then for sure the next.

They Will Pay You To Live Here, But Would You Want To?

Have you been thinking about packing your bags and moving to a whole new place? I highly recommend it, as I've done it myself many times. I've made new friends and discovered some pretty cool things along the way. But if money is the issue, you might want to think about a few specific places where they will actually pay you to come and live there! Some of these places might not seem terribly attractive, while others could get you thinking. Happy Trails!

Hot Chocolate With A Few Twists!

One of my favorite ways to spend a snowy day is with a good book and an equally good cup of hot chocolate!

Making hot chocolate the old-fashioned or even instant packet-style way works, but sometimes it's fun to step it up a notch by making it spicier, richer, or grown-up friendly. Here are some delicious ways to mix up the best mug you've ever tasted ...
