Viking head coach Leslie Frazier met the media Monday giving an update on injuries. Both tight end Kyle Rudolph and safety Harrison Smith suffered concussions Sunday will need to pass post concussion tests to be cleared to play Sunday at Green Bay.
Longtime Timberwolves executive and former head coach Kevin McHale's 23-year old daughter Sasha died this weekend. The announcement from the Houston Rockets on Sunday. McHale had been on leave from the team since November 10.

Spielman made that statement Wednesday. Ponder is in his first full season as the starting quarterback for the Vikings. Former Twins centerfielder Torii Hunter has agreed to sign a 2-year $26 Million contract according to Ken Rosenthal of Fox Sports. Hunter has reportedly narrowed his choices to Texas, Detroit and Atlanta. Hunter is a 37-year old rightfielder at this point in his career. He batted .313 with 16 homeruns and 92 RBIs for the Los Angeles Angels in 2012.
Viking running back Adrian Peterson had misdemeanor resisting arrest charges dropped Tuesday stemming from an incident at the Houston Night Club on July 7. Peterson allegedly refused to leave the night club when originally asked and became combative with staff. Peterson was scheduled for a court appeared in Texas on Thursday.
The St. Cloud State Football closed their season Saturday with a 39-37 road win at Minnesota State-Moorhead. The Huskies finished the season with a 7-4 record. Junior quarterback Phil Klaphake is a Harlon Hill finalist for College Football's top award after putting up some great numbers in 2012. Klaphake threw for 2,760 yards and 28 touchdowns and ran for 807 yards and 9 touchdowns.
Timberwolves guard/forward Chase Budinger is out indefinitely with a torn meniscus in his left knee. Budinger suffered the injury at Chicago Saturday night. Budinger scored the game-winning layup on a brilliant feed from Andrei Kirilenko Friday night. Budinger is averaging 11.8 points and 3.5 rebounds a game this season.
The Vikings defeated the Detroit Lions 34-24 at home Sunday to sweep the season series against Detroit and improve to 6-4 while dropping Detroit to 4-5. Minnesota led 13-3 at halftime and held on in the 2nd half. Adrian Peterson ran for 171 yards on 27 carries and 1 touchdown plus he scored on a 2-point conversion. Kyle Rudolph was th top receiver for Minnesota with 7 catches for 64 yards and 1 touchdown for Minnesota.
St. Cloud State junior quarterback Phil Klaphake has been named one of 24 finalists for the top player in Division II college football, the Harlon Hill Trophy. Klaphake threw for 2,519 yards and 26 touchdowns and has run for 460 yards and 7 touchdowns for the Huskies in 2012. He ranks in the top three in the NSIC in passing average per game, total offense and pass efficiency.
