Slammin' those energy drinks may open your eyes a little wider than normal and give you that oh so much wanted boost, but be cautious.

Some drink more of those than we should and you could find yourself in the emergency room of your local friendly hospital.

According to a new government study found in an article of  ABC News, the stats of emergency room visits has literally doubled in the last four years and these numbers are as follows from 10,000 in 2007 to 20,000 in 2011.

A survey by the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration states that energy drinks to be, "a rising public health problem."

Dr. Allen Taylor who is the chief of the cardiology division at Georgetown University Hospital talks of the possible side effects :
