As season two of ‘The Voice‘ gets ready to hit airwaves, one of the show’s celeb judges, Blake Shelton, is taking his season one pick on the road with him for his Well Lit and Amplified Tour. He invited season one finalist Dia Frampton to join the caravan as a supporting act alongside Justin Moore.

In the below video clip from NBC, Shelton talks about his love of ‘The Voice’ overall, his pride at being a judge and his reasoning behind inviting the young talent to tour with him. Speaking of a show that gave four new talents major record deals, the ‘Honey Bee’ singer pointed out that no other show allows established artists to work with new artists in the same way. With obvious pride in his protege, Shelton adds that he can’t wait to see Frampton playing to his audiences.

“I’m really looking forward to seeing Dia playing in arenas and actually having a chance to get up in front of hopefully a lot of people night after night and experience a tour that way and see that it’s not all beating your head against the pavement,” he says. And while skeptics may suggest he’s doing her a fatherly favor, the singer insists that Frampton earned her spot.

“It’s not that I’m just handing her this tour,” he says. “She actually has developed a fanbase out there, and it makes sense, I think, for people to see us together on tour after seeing our music connection on ‘The Voice.’ I think it’s a natural fit to bring her out on the road with me.” Then, alluding to the inherent shyness of Frampton’s character, he says playfully, “I can almost guarantee you we’ll perform together because I’m gonna make her — whether she likes it or not.”
