Blake Shelton and the USO Show Troupe Choir teamed up for a surprise holiday acoustic performance in New York City's Greeley Square (Dec. 19), which was hosted by JCPenney. As part of an interview for the event, Shelton revealed his New Year's resolution, one he can't seem to keep despite revisiting it for two decades.

In a behind-the-scenes footage, Shelton, known for being wickedly funny and for imbibing often, especially when he tweets, revealed that he has made the same New Year's resolution for 20 years and he never sticks to it. He admits he vows to clean up his language and not drink as much, but it never works.

The singer and 'The Voice' coach also shared his favorite holiday memory, which is the first Christmas his brother came back from the army and his family was reunited.

Now, the singer just wants to be home and spend time with friends and family, since he actively shuns the show biz nonsense!

About the JCP event, the display included holiday animation and virtual carolers singing 'Silent Night.' It was special, since it included a 3D projection mapping on the façade of the retailer's Manhattan Mall location.

It was quite a holiday party and it also featured actress Jamie Chung of 'The Hangover' fame.

The performance was part of JCP's promotion in which the retailer invited up and coming vocalists to "join the jingle" and upload footage of them performing the solemn hymn 'Silent Night.'
