Today is Movember 19th, and men around the world are growing mustaches in the spirit of raising awareness & money for men's health issues. The well mustachioed Nick Offerman from NBC's Parks & Recreation offers some guidance for the rest of us on growing a Mo.
Despite my best efforts I have come down with the cold that has been making the rounds in our office. There's no cure for the common cold; and when I think 'cold,' I don't think Mayo Clinic (I let them take care of the more serious stuff) -- but what the heck, they're experts, so let's see what they have to say.
Today is Movember 17th, and I thought I'd give you an update as to how things are going (and why many men in our building are growing Mo's). The Movember Foundation works around the clock and around the world to improve the lives of men and their families affected by prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems.
Happy Movember. We're a third of the way in. The Movember Foundation aims to change the way we think about men's health by putting a fun twist on this serious issue. Using the mustache as a catalyst, the idea is to bring about change and give us guys the opportunity and confidence to learn and talk about our health and take action when needed.
It's been great walking around our building this week, seeing many of my male co-workers (aka Mo Bros) growing a mustache in the name of changing the face of men's health. Raising awareness and funds committed to combatting prostate cancer, testicular cancer and mental health problems during the month of Movember.
Against all odds and predictions (including my own), I have completed my 30-day 'Sugar-Free Challenge' (no sugar, no sweeteners, no simple, starchy carbs, no alcohol) following my viewing of the movie 'Fed Up' a month or so ago.
Saturday was Movember first (Movember being the month formerly known as November), and thousands of men around the world 'Shaved The Date,' all in the name of raising awareness and funds for men's health. It'll be mustaches only for the next 30-days, and it was great to kick it off with my dad.
The Movember Foundation is the leading global organization committed to changing the face of men’s health. We achieve this by growing mustaches during Movember (the month formerly known as November) to spark conversation and raise funds for men's health issues.
Since relatively humble beginnings back in 2003 in Australia, the Movember movement has grown to be a truly global one; inspiring support from over 4 million Mo Bro around the world, and now there are campaigns in 21 countries. It starts with you joining the 98 Country Movember team today. Come on, be a (Mo) Bro.
