December 20, 2012 The Twins are reportedly interested in free agent starting pitcher Freddy Garcia. The 36-year old Garcia pitched 30 games for the Yankees in 2012 including 17 starts. He was 7-6 with a 5.20 ERA for New York.
December 20, 2012 Viking kicker Blair Walsh was named the NFC special teams player of the week this week. He was 5-5 on field goals including 3 field goals of 50 yards or more. He had 18 points in the Viking 36-22 win at St. Louis Sunday. Walsh is 8-8 on field goals of 50 yards or more this season.
December 18, 2012 The St. Cloud Rox announced their 2013 schedule Monday night. The Rox will open at the Waterloo Bucks on May 29 before hosting Thunder Bay in their home opener on May 31. The Northwoods League in 2013 will play 2 inter-division series.

December 17, 2012 The Twins have agreed to sign right-handed starting pitcher Mike Pelfrey to a 1-year $4 Million contract with a possibility to earn another $1.5 Million in incentives. Pelfrey is coming off Tommy John surgery and is expected to be ready to return during spring training.
December 17, 2012 The Vikings routed the Rams in St. Louis 36-22 Sunday. Adrian Peterson ran for 212 yards including an 82-yard touchdown. Peterson is now 294 yards away from Eric Dickerson's single season rushing record.

UPDATE 6:30 p.m.: Originally it was thought that Adam Lanza, the gunman, shot his mother at the Sandy Hook Elementary school, where she was a teacher's aide. ABC has learned that, in fact, Nancy Lanza was killed at her home (by her son) prior to the massacre. He then drove to the school, where he killed 20 children and six adults, before killing himself.
