Each Wednesday at 8 a.m. I join Cindy and Doug for Country Classic Flashback.  We take a trip down memory lane to highlight a country legend.  This week we are featuring The Judds.

The Judds, a mother-daughter duo, was made up of Naomi and Wynonna Judd.  Naomi was born January 11, 1946 and Wynonna on May 30, 1964.

They rose to become the top country vocal duo in a matter of months starting in 1983.  Their first release, Had A Dream (For the Heart) landed at # 17 on the Billboard singles chart.  Their second single, Mama He’s Crazy, established the mother-daughter duo and became the first of eight straight number one hits.

The Judds won five Grammy Awards for Best Country Performance by a Duo and eight Country Music Association awards.  They called it quits in 1991 after Naomi was diagnosed with Hepatitis C.  Wynonna began her solo career around that time and the two have reunited on occasion.

Country Classic Flashback is brought to you by Midwest Machinery on East Highway 23 in Sauk Rapids with eight other locations in Central Minnesota.

For more of your favorite country classics tune in to the 98 Country Classic Show every Sunday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
