"Alabama" is a country music southern rock band from the state of Alabama founded in 1969 by Randy Owens and his cousin Teddy Gentry. The group was formerly known as "Wild Country." The group paved the way for the success of today's top Country groups. The band had a great cross over appeal that lead to their unprecedented popularity. The band has over 30 number one Country Hits on the Billboard charts. In May of 2002, the band announced its farewell tour. The tour took place in 2003-2004. In 2012 Alabama will perform at the 30th Anniversary of WE Fest in August held in Detroit Lakes, MN. Alabama also played at the first ever WE Fest in 1983. You'll be able to hear some of the great hits at 11:00 AM Sunday on the "Country Classic Spotlight" part of the Country Classic Show from 9 AM to 1 PM.
