Vern Gosdin was born August 5, 1934 in Alabama. Nicknamed "The Voice" he had 19 Top Ten Solo Hits on the Country Music Chart from the late 1970's through the early 1990's.  Three of these hits went to Number One.  In 1961 Vern Gosdin moved to California when he joined the west coast country music movement.  First as a member of the Golden State Boys, and then forming the Gosdin Brothers with his brother Rex.  Vern suffered a stroke in early April 2009.  He pasted away April 28, 2009 at age 74 in a Nashville hospital.
