Rookie kicker Dan Bailey kicked a 40-yard field goal, his sixth of the game, with 1:47 left to lift the Dallas Cowboys to an 18-16 victory over the Washington Redskins at Cowboys Stadium on Monday Night.

Dallas quarterback Tony Romo completed a 30-yard pass to Dez Bryant on a third-and-21 at the Cowboys’ 30-yard line to key the 64-yard drive that set up Bailey’s go-ahead kick. Romo played the entire game with a cracked rib suffered last week in a comeback victory over San Francisco.

Felix Jones led the Cowboys with 115 rushing yards, while the Dallas defense sacked Redskins’ quarterback Rex Grossman three times and forced him to commit two turnovers.

Washington (2-1) attempted to get in range for a game-winning field goal with under one minute to play, but Grossman fumbled after being hit by the Cowboys’ Anthony Spencer. Linebacker Sean Lee recovered the ball to seal the victory for Dallas (2-1).
