Deer Hunting Season Starts Saturday, The Weather Looks Normal For This Time Of The Year
If you are one of the 500,000 hunters who are expected to be out this deer hunting season, it looks like a “normal” start to the season in regards to the weather.
Normal high temperatures are generally in the 40s and that is what we can expect over the weekend. Most deer hunters like a couple of inches of snow on the ground to help them track the deer, but don’t expect that in central Minnesota this year.
“There is a chance of a little rain or light snow possible, but don’t anticipate any measurable snow on the ground here,” says Meteorologist Mark Anthony.
The opener will take place in Winona and will kick-off Saturday morning with Governor Mark Dayton. On Friday, members of the statewide media were shown around the Winona area. It’s all in “an effort to boost the rich hunting tradition in Minnesota” say organizers.
