Don Gibson Steps Into the Sunday Morning Country Classic Spotlight
On Sunday’s edition of the Country Classic Spotlight, I am featuring the music of Don Gibson.
Don was born in April of 1928 in Shelby, North Carolina, into a very poor working class family. He dropped out of grade school to help make money to support the family.
Gibson recorded several songs with Dottie West in the late 60′s and early 1970′s. “Rings of Gold” was the biggest hit at number 2 on the country charts. West and Gibson recorded an album together in 1969 titled, “Dottie and Don.”
Don Gibson, as a singer and songwriter was active from 1948 to 2003. He died that year at age 75.
Join me Sunday, October 30th at 11:00 AM as we celebrate the life and music of Don Gibson.
