Don’t Be A ‘Father’s Day Skimper’
Don’t be a ‘Father’s Day Skimper’ — defined (by me) as of one the 77% of Americans who spend more, and pay more attention to moms than dads on their day. Besides, dad is easy to please. Quality time with the family (dinner, grilling, outing) is what he wants most, but get him something nice anyway.
A survey by retailmenot.com, revealed the following:
- 77% of both men and women feel that mothers get more attention or celebration on Mother’s Day than dads do on Father’s Day.
- Ties and “#1 Dad” T-shirts are the least-hoped-for presents by dads.
- Only 35% of dads said they wanted some sort of gift that cost money (vs. 52% of moms).
- 51% spend between $1 and $100 on Father’s Day gifts (vs. 67% on moms).
- 60% do not expect their wife or significant other to get them a gift for Father’s Day.
Come on man (or woman). Step it up for dear old dad.
