Duluth Wins ‘Best Outdoors Town’ Title

In what began as 64 cities competing for online votes in an effort to be named ‘Best Town in America’ for those who love the outdoors, Duluth, Minnesota was crowned champion over the weekend by Outside magazine. Provo, Utah finished second to Duluth in the final round.

Outside magazine readers were asked to vote for the best place to live for people who loved living an active lifestyle — advancing top voted cities through six rounds of bracketed competition.

In earlier rounds of competition Duluth defeated Columbia, Missouri…Athens, Ohio…LaCrosse, Wisconsin…Minneapolis…and Asheville, North Carolina.
