Hey, wait a minute. I want my flu shot money back. (Ok, what? Oh, right I did't pay anything. Insurance covered it.) The news of the day is saying the our usual flu shot effectiveness (60%) may not be as effective this year (40%) as we had hoped. Turns out that one of the strains mutated leaving us all a bit unprotected.

The Centers For Disease Control still says we should get the vaccine, since it will still protect us against three of the four strains it was designed for. That said, although it's still early, the CDC is afraid it might be a bad flu season because the mutated (and unprotected) strain seems to be dominating early.

Bottom line:

  1. Get vaccinated.
  2. Wash your hands frequently.
  3. Stay away from sick people.
  4. Don't touch your face.
  5. Get proper rest & nutrition.
  6. Exercise and get outside.
  7. Cross your fingers.
