I'm dropping Jay off for a flight in the next couple of weeks, so I'm glad I came across this information. We usually get to the airport with plenty of time to spare, but for the next few weeks, they're recommending that you get there even earlier.

The rule of thumb for a domestic flight these days, is to get to the airport 2 hours before your flight leaves. Now the folks at the Minneapolis-St. Paul Airport are suggesting you add another 30 minutes to that. Why? According to airport spokesman, Patrick Hogan, it's because there are more people flying lately, and that might slow things down a bit getting you checked in and through security.

I would rather get there early, get checked in and relax before my flight leaves. I've been through the late check-in, and running through an airport to catch a flight is not the graceful journey you see in the movies. At least not with me!
