You want to get in shape. You want your family to be healthier. You don't have the money for a family membership at our local gym. What do you do? Drive to Waite Park! There's a gym opening that is free for the entire family!

The Harold P. Nelson Healthy Living Trail will be opening on Saturday, April 14th in conjunction with the Spark of Rejuvenation 5k Fun Run/Walk to benefit the American Cancer Society. The trail is a great way to get the family out and get a workout in without having to go to a gym and the best part is, it is totally free!

There are stations set up along the trail that target different muscles groups. You walk or run between the stations to keep your heart rate up, use the equipment that is provided and move on to the next station. By the time you reach the end of the trail, you and the family will have put in a great workout without having to spend one dime.

When I started with Rejuv Medical a little over a year ago, I had never been taught how to use any gym equipment. I still have to ask for instruction on newer pieces of equipment. So if you are like me, you probably need a little help figuring out the stations that are set up on the Healthy Living Trail.

Good thing for you, I just happen to be good friends with the director of Rejuv Medical's Weight Loss and Fitness Center and J.R. Burgess has graciously put together a great video that takes you through all of the equipment you will find on the trail. Check out the video below with the family before heading out to the trail, then everyone will know how to use the equipment.

I have signed up for the Spark of Rejuvenation 5k Fun Run/Walk and I would love to see you there running with me!
