The Minnesota Golden Gophers men’s basketball team advanced to the NIT championship game with a 67-64 overtime win over Florida State Tuesday at Madison Square Garden in New York City.  The Gophers will play against Southern Methodist for the tourney title Thursday night (5:30, WJON).

Austin Hollins and Deandre Mathieu each scored 17 points to pace Minnesota in the victory, with Hollins shooting 7-11 from the floor and 3-4 from three point range.  Oto Osenieks made a surprise comeback from what appeared to be a career-ending knee condition to grind out  32-minutes.

Okaro White led the Seminoles with 16 points. Florida State finishes the season with a 22-14 record.
