The Minnesota Gophers (8-5) ended their season last night with a 21-17 loss to the Syracuse Orange (7-6) in the Texas Bowl in Houston. The Gophers led late in the 4th quarter, before Syracuse scored the go-ahead touchdown with 1:14 remaining to secure the win.

In an attempt to spark the Gopher players, Minnesota head coach left the press box at halftime, and joined the team on the sidelines for the final two quarters; the first time he'd done so since moving to the press box September 28th to help control his seizures.
