Boy, I just know my mom's rolling over in her grave right now as I am a fan of one of the most seemingly unhealthy foods to come out of the frozen section...but I can't help it...I love Hot Pockets!

Can you believe it's been 31 years since Paul and David Merage created Hot Pockets for their frozen food company Chef America, Inc? Ok, you can chalk up my obsession to being a hopeful Hot Pockets shareholder to my on-the-go radio career. But it's almost a match made in heaven as both of our families are from Orange County, California! In 2002, Nestle bought the business for $2.6 billion and has almost doubled it's value in 12 years!

My first interaction with the popular portable came in high school in the late 90's, where I'd earn money by taking people's lunch orders for the irresistible pocket pizzas. As a young guy in the grocery store they were always a quick go to, with 2 sandwiches providing a 3rd of a person's daily value for calories, fat, and carbs. Whether you think they're breathtaking like Dr. Evil or you steer clear of these frozen meals, you can't deny the pop culture power of the Hot Pocket...right Jim?

And if any of the Nestle people are reading this, I love the pretzel bread and bbq chicken...but please bring back the Spicy Pepperoni Hot Pockets, please? :D
