Since his debut on the charts in 1981 with "Unwound", the undisputed King Of Country Music has put together an impressive career. His 59 number one singles gives him the record as the artist with the most number ones covering any genre of music....in the history of music! Since 1981, he's the only artist to have had at least one song in the Top 10 every single year. And, he's sold over 68 million albums to date. He was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame six years ago, and is only the second artist to be inducted while still recording actively-charting music (Eddy Arnold was the first). The ACM's named him their Artist of the Decade for the 2000's. The one distinction that George doesn't hold is that he's not a member of the Grand Ole Opry since he doesn't live in Nashville and isn't able to make the Opry commitments. Here's to many more #1's from this living legend.
