Hi. My name is Jen and I'm the new voice of the afternoons here on 98 Country. Please let me introduce myself.

Hi. I'm Jen Jacobs and first off, let me just tell you how thrilled I am to be doing the afternoons here on 98 Country. One of the "tour stops" of my radio career had me working in Hutchinson, about an hour south of St. Cloud and I used to listen to 98 all the time. Now I work here. It's surreal, but let me back up.

I was born and raised just outside of St. Paul.  I come from a very close knit family. My dad was a police officer and my mother worked for the school district as a lunch lady. I have one older sister who is married and still lives in St. Paul. In fact, my mom and dad still live in the house where I grew up and all the rest of my immediate family lives in the Twin Cities, so it's nice that we don't have to travel too far to see everyone.

I fell in love with radio as a child, so it was kind of handy when someone asked me what I wanted to grow up to be I always had an answer. "A radio disc jockey". My love of radio came from riding shotgun with my mom and dad in the woody station wagon listening to the country station. I was raised on Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, George Strait, Tammy Wynette and George Jones. Mom was more of a rock and roller, so I also grew up listening to the Rolling Stones, the Doors, Jimi Hendrix and the Animals. Needless to say, I have quite the eclectic taste in music and have taken up playing the guitar and the drums as a result.

My radio career has taken me to Hutchinson, Red Wing, Minneapolis and St. Cloud. I am no stranger to the area as I have called Central Minnesota home for about five years now. I started here in the Townsquare Media family in 2009 doing mornings on one of our sister stations and now I'm on the other side of the clock, starting today with your ride home here on 98 Country.

When I'm not at work, I enjoy hanging out with my husband, Glen and my cat, Lula Belle. I also enjoy traveling, swimming, playing tennis and hockey, cooking, watching sports (hockey, baseball, football and NASCAR) and spending time with family and friends.
