The Sartell-St. Stephen Sabres begin the Scott Hentges era this season.  He replaces longtime head coach and current Athletic Director John Ross.  Hentges had been the defensive coordinator under Ross.  Hentges comes from a coaching family.  His Dad, Bruce had been the head coach at St. Cloud Tech in the late 1980s and 1990s and is assisting Scott in Sartell.

The Sabres are expected to start Parker Hagen at quarterback with Erik McAfee at tailback and the top receivers are expected to be Pat Fischer and Drew Voshell.

The Sabres were 4-7 in 2011 including two 1-point loses.  Sartell will begin the 2012 season at home against Apollo on August 31.  The Sabres play at Big Lake on September 7, will host Sauk Rapids-Rice on September 14,  will play at Grand Rapids on September 21, will host Fergus Falls on September 28, will play at Tech on October 5, will host Willmar on October 12 and will play at Bemidji on October 17.
