The St. Cloud Tech Tigers were 7-3 in 2011 and return some key players in 2012.  They include top running back Jacob Peterson.  #30 will be a challenge for the rest of the Central Lakes Conference and the teams in section 85A to deal with.  Peterson could surpass Scott Schmitz to become the all-time leading rusher in Tech football history.

Tech Head Football Coach Gregg Martig talks with Lee Voss and Jay Caldwell and AM 1390-the Fan.

Peterson will be joined in the backfield by a combination of Jesse Lavoi and Jay Kedrowski at quarterback.  Whoever isn’t playing quarterback could be used as a receiver.  Phil Amundson will play a significant role in 2012 at receiver on offense and cornerback on defense.

Tech will have to replace some key players with the losses of Paul Kaczor and Kevin Heysse.  Kaczor is playing football Harvard and Heysse will play basketball at St. John’s.

Tech has a tough beginning to their schedule with road games at Alexandria and Brainerd before hosting Grand Rapids on September 14.  The Tigers will then play at Sauk Rapids-Rice at September 21, and will  then host Moorhead and Sartell-St. Stephen in back to back weeks before play at Apollo on October 12 and closing the season at home against Rocori on October 17.
