How Intern Jon Got Into This Crazy Business

Those of us in the radio business are often asked how we got started. For me, it was sort of by accident. For one of our interns, Jon Kaase, it was also sort of by accident. He shares how he got started, along with a photo of the studio where it all began:

I originally went to SCSU as a Criminal Justice Major but when I took my first radio class, I was hooked.  I fell in love with the idea of being on the radio and having my voice heard, along with editing and producing audio.  KVSC, the radio station I work at now, offers free DJ training to all community members and I took full advantage of that. Within weeks I was on the air playing music and reading news. It is easily one of the best experiences of my life.
