If you live in Minnesota, and the universe throws you a 70-plus degree day in October, you take full advantage of it. That's what I did yesterday.

I've been saying for over a year now that I'm going to check out the Wobegon Trail. So as soon as I got home from work yesterday, I grabbed Neena and Tito (the dogs) and we took the short drive to St. Joe and the start of our journey.

The furry kids were pretty excited to have new places to sniff, and I was excited at the thought of a little exercise in such a beautiful fall setting. So off we went...........

For about a 1/4 of a mile.

That's when I realized there would be no exercise for me, only plenty of sniffing for the dogs. Tito wouldn't walk three feet without stopping to check out a new piece of grass.

So after plenty of fun for those two, we headed back to the car and I dropped them off at home. However, the day was much too beautiful to waste, so I headed off by myself to Sauk Rapids.

The walk along the river is beautiful.

I stopped to chat with a family of ducks. Spent a little time contemplating life. And headed home.

It's going to be even warmer today. Where to go, where to go........ideas?
