I’ll Be Reeling In Tomorrow’s Minnesota Fishing Opener

Ladies & gentlemen, start you boat motors, as the 2014 Minnesota Fishing Opener hits at midnight tonight. Walleye, Northern, Bass, Crappie, Trout, Perch. Bring 'em all on. I will be up north at the cabin for the big day tomorrow. Part fishing, part tradition, part looking' forward to summer (and probably part making a fire).

The 'Governor's Fish Opener' takes place Saturday on Gull Lake, near Nisswa. 'Pete's Fishing Opener' will be taking place on Aerie Lake near Alborn (pictured above).

This year the Minnesota DNR has created a nice 'Fish Minnesota' website that is a catch-all for all your Minnesota fishing info and questions.
