One thing I love about New Year's is the cheese ball my mom makes.

We usually make a big dinner at my house on New Year's Eve.  Sometimes it's my great-grandmother's barbecued ribs or maybe even prime rib.  This year we're going with a fresh turkey with all the tasty sides, including my favorite -- mashed potatoes and gravy.  Yum!

One thing my mom makes this time of year is cheese ball.  Now I know what you're thinking -- what's so special about that?  The truth is I don't know other than I've never seen anyone else make one.  I've seen a few that don't look nearly as good at the grocery store but otherwise I haven't seen it anywhere else.

I don't know exactly how to make it but I know there's cheese that comes in a plastic container and cream cheese.  It gets mixed together, formed into a ball of deliciousness and rolled in walnuts.  Then you spread it on Ritz crackers. My mouth is watering just thinking about it.  I can't even describe how much I love this creation!
