The last time I had to go see a doctor because I couldn't shake a sickness was the winter of 2001!

I was just a big-mouth, high school junior the last time I needed a doctor because I was sick. I use to get strep throat once a year, during winter, like it was nobody's business. The worst case I had my throat closed up to the size of the tip of your pinkie finger... it was gross. Ever since that last time where the strep was really bad, I have not needed to see a doctor for illness in 13-years.

Yes, I have had a few surgeries, broke my hand and stuff like that, but when it came to being sick... I would sleep it off in a day or so. 2014 was the year to break the streak. I was sick last week and missed a couple days of work (the most work I've missed in a long long time) but that was only the beginning. Brittany and I went to visit some friends on Friday night and we stayed over night at their place. Saturday, on the way home, I started coughing uncontrollably... so hard that it hurt the side of my head.

Sunday morning I finally broke and had Brittany take me to see the doctor. The 13-year streak was broken, but I couldn't shake this no matter what I tried. I needed some prescribed drugs, NOW. Turns out I had Bronchitis and Sinusitis, two separate sicknesses that I've never had before... they both decided to take me out together. It was horrible.

Here's to another 13-years before I need to see a doctor due to an illness.

How long has it been since you had to make a doctor visit because you were sick?
