I grew up in Alabama. I moved to upstate New York when I was 22 and the first thing people said to me was, "How many branches does your family tree have?" What I discovered in living all over the country is... there are rednecks everywhere, even here. What's shocking is that they are literally sprinkled all over the world!I saw more rednecks in upstate New York, Connecticut and here in Central Minnesota than I ever saw in north Alabama. And I know you are probably saying, "Dave, come on, is that even possible?" My answer is, yes!

Look, we had our fair share of rednecks in Alabama, heck, half my family would qualify, but what I have seen in other parts of the country makes the people of Alabama look like full on scholars!

What I have come to realize is that rednecks are everywhere! Here in the U.S. and around the world. Take the kid in this video. I'm not sure what language he's speaking, but I can only imagine he is saying "Hey Ya'll Watch This!" - the international signal that a redneck is going to do something crazy.

This kid has attached a cob of corn to a drill so he can eat it as fast as possible. Now, why on earth would anyone NEED to do this? Eating it one bite at a time isn't good enough? I can only imagine how much dental floss he needs after this ordeal!
