Jerrod Niemann and his longtime girlfriend, Morgan Petek, are officially engaged and planning a wedding for 2014!

The 'Drink to That All Night' singer is just now opening up about the exciting news, but he's been keeping it under wraps from the public for a few months.

Niemann actually proposed late last year in New Orleans -- but wants to make it clear this is no shotgun wedding. The singer tells ABC News Radio, "No babies. Not that there's anything wrong with that. Just good, old-fashioned love."

Love is certainly a good reason to get down on one knee, and it also brings out the romantic and thoughtful side of Niemann; there's a reason he asked Morgan to become his wife in the Big Easy.

"It's a city that has a lot of culture and ain't scared to have a lot of fun," he says, explaining that their relationship is reminiscent of New Orleans itself. "So, she has the culture. I have the fun. So, we kind of feel like New Orleans together."

The cute couple's love story has had its share of ups and downs throughout the years. Niemann's highly emotional track 'What Do You Want' was actually inspired by his now-fiancee, and although the tone of the song is frustration, the two lovebirds have overcome lots of obstacles to get to where they are today.

Niemann and Morgan plan to tie the knot sometime in 2014, with the exact date to be determined. In the meantime, the country singer's new album, 'High Noon,' will street March 25.
