Kacey Musgraves came under fire when a camera "caught" her "frowning" during Miranda Lambert's win for Female Vocalist of the Year at the 2013 CMAs. She has finally spoken out about all the media-created drama over the fact that her expression was misinterpreted.

Here's a play-by-play. Musgraves was up for the same award. The camera panned to Musgraves in the audience during Lambert's acceptance speech, as Lambert graciously paid her a compliment for winning New Artist of the Year. Musgraves was looking straight ahead, seemingly paying attention, but the media had a field day with her expression, assuming she was frowning and legitimately bummed about losing to Lambert.

While the gossip hounds analyzed her reaction, the 'Follow Your Arrow' singer remained mum.

Musgraves has finally commented on the situation. She wasn't miffed at Miranda's win. It's just that the camera caught her having a non-smile expression, which is common! Not everyone smiles all the time.

"As a new artist, I’m still getting used to cameras being on me 24/7," the singer said. "And there’s no way you can be caught smiling at all times. If you know me, sometimes when I’m just sitting there, it looks like I’m not having a good time, but I am!"

Still, given all the unwanted attention to the "face" she made, Musgraves contacted Lambert to let her know that the media got it all wrong, which was a classy move. She said, "I’ve reached out to Miranda and let her know that that I didn’t mean anything."

Was Lambert cool about it? Of course she was.

Musgraves admitted, "We laughed about how dumb those things can get. I don’t like that because it can take away from music at certain points. I didn’t mean anything by that. It’s funny because I was clapping and smiling before and after that clip. I guess I’m still kind of getting used to everything."

Musgraves even had a sense of humor about it, saying, "If anyone should be offended, it should be me! I mean, did you see my face? I look like a dumba--. It was a long day. My feet were hurting."

No harm, no foul!
