Hillary Scott’s weekend wedding to longtime boyfriend Chris Tyrrell was a surprise to most of us — perhaps even her Lady Antebellum bandmates. According to OK!, a rep for the trio says that neither Charles Kelley nor Dave Haywood were in attendance for Saturday’s New York nuptials.

Without them there, it was easy for Scott to keep her word that Lady Antebellum would not be hired to perform as her wedding band. “I’m not asking them to sing or play an instrument,” the frontlady said in a late 2011 issue of Redbook. “I’m not putting anybody I love to work on my wedding day.”

After the CMAs in November, Kelley was persistent in deciding who would play at her reception, requesting that Scott have a Motown band — though unfortunately, he didn’t get his wish, which is OK since he wasn’t there. The Lady A trio’s rep confirms that Christian contemporary icon Steven Curtis Chapman led Scott and Tyrrell in their first dance.

While Haywood and Kelley didn’t make Scott’s special day, they’re eager to celebrate with their leading songstress and her new husband. The rep for the trio says, “They look forward to celebrating with both Hillary and Chris in the coming weeks.”
