Lavalle Pleads Guilty in Mall Bathroom Camera Incident
A Rice man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from an incident last fall where he placed a cell phone camera in a Crossroads Shopping mall bathroom.
25-year-old Joshua Lavalle pleaded guilty to one felony count and four gross misdemeanor counts of Interference with Privacy after he placed the camera in a unisex bathroom November 25th. He also pleaded guilty to one felony count of fifth degree drug possession from an October incident where he was caught with methamphetamine.
The sentences will run concurrently or at the same time.
A pre-sentence investigation will be done which includes a chemical dependency evaluation and psychosexual evaluation.
Lavalle will be sentenced up to 90 days in jail, must submit a DNA sample and must follow all recommendations of the evaluations. He will also be on probation for five years on the drug crime and four years for the felony interference with privacy offenses.
Lavalle remains in jail on $150-thousand bail.
