I signed up for Early Childhood Family Education the week my daughter was born. Heck, I’d never done this parent thing before, I was a stay-at-home mom and I knew I needed help! Well, parenthood turned out to be even tougher than I thought but ECFE was even better than I expected. This week you have an opportunity to learn more about the program.

The District 742 Early Childhood Open House is this Wednesday, August 31 from 4:30-6:00pm. The open house gives you the chance to meet ECFE and Preschool teachers and visit classrooms. You can also register for fall parent-child classes for parents and children birth to age 5.

The open house will be held at the Roosevelt Education Center at 3015 3rd Street N., St. Cloud. Call 253-5828 for more information.

Don’t be shy and don’t think ECFE is not for me. My daughter Elena had a blast and I learned so many coping strategies that have really come in handy as a first-time parent. You’ll meet parents with children experiencing the same frustrations and joys that you are and, at the very least, it will give you an excuse to clean the spit-up, playdough, or this morning’s breakfast off your shirt and get out of the house!
