Martina McBride's nationwide volunteer group Team Martina has 27,000 reasons to celebrate. The group had a very ambitious goal of raising $20,000 in four weeks to aid in building the Chastain Park Conservancy Playground in Atlanta, which would serve as a world-class park for children of all abilities and needs.

It was a big goal, but the group not only reached it -- they exceeded it by $7,000!

Together, Team Martina raised $27,000, and McBride is beaming with pride over the accomplishment, since the space will be upgraded so that it can be utilized by thousands of kids! Right now, the park (which houses the only playground for miles where it's located) is small in relation to the amount of people who visit each year. These funds will allow for expansion and for equipment that can be used for both older and disabled children, making it a space for everyone.

"Once again, I am extremely proud of Team Martina and their dedication and passion for helping make the world a better place," the 'I'm Gonna Love You Through It' singer says. "This playground will be an all-ability green space that will serve thousands of children in the area. We all know playing outside is important for children's health and development. I'm looking forward to seeing the finished space."

McBridge's Sound Check for Kids partnered with Crowdrise for this campaign, which wrapped with a Sept. 28 performance by McBride at the park's amphitheater. The campaign was incentive-laden, as the first 50 fans who raised a minimum of $200 gained access to a soundcheck party with the singer, among other things.

Donations are still being accepted here. Congrats to McBride, Team Martina and everyone who donated and/or participated on their efforts!
