Miley Cyrus is the hottest topic in pop music right now, thanks to recent scandalous antics that have everyone, including her father Billy Ray Cyrus, talking. Her godmother Dolly Parton hasn't weighed in Miley's behavior yet, but she doesn't have to -- Miss Cyrus says she considers the country icon a true role model.

"I watch people like Dolly. Dolly knows what she is," Cyrus says (quote via Perez Hilton). "She's smart. She's not just a blonde with big t---ies -- she is a genius under there."

Perhaps a backhanded compliment, but it's coming from a place of love. And Parton is known for being particularly well-endowed, something she owns up to.

Cyrus continued to gush over Parton, adding, "She literally came from nothing, and now you go anywhere in the world, and they know Dolly Parton."

"It's like, don't let people's judgment define who you are," adds the young pop star. "Don't read the comments and get nervous. Know who you are."

So that's what Miley Cyrus, who is just 20, thinks of the legend. At least she pays her respects and recognizes what country music fans already know -- that Dolly Parton is inimitable.

Before her jaw-dropping MTV VMAs performance, Cyrus turned in an amazing cover of Parton's 'Jolene' last year. Check it out here. It's raw and centers on what's most important -- the music.
