For all you parents and parents-to-be out there you know coming up with a name for your child can be difficult. Well, I have something that might help make your decision. Here is the lists for the top baby names from 2011, along with the top trending names from last year according to the Social Security Administration. 

If your goal is to come up with a unique name for your child then choosing one of these names for you kid probably isn't the best idea. These were the top ten boys and girls names used in 2011, in order, number 1 being most popular.

Boys

1. Jacob

2. Mason

3. William

4. Jayden

5. Noah

6. Michael

7. Ethan

8. Alexander

9. Aiden

10. Daniel

Mason is the only new name on the list of the top 10 boys names, pushing Anthony further down in popularity, and for the 13th year in a row Jacob landed the number 1 spot.

Girls

1. Sophia

2. Isabella

3. Emma

4. Olivia

5. Ava

6. Emily

7. Abigail

8. Madison

9. Mia

10. Chloe

There are no new additions to the top ten girls names, but Sophia did swap places with Isabella this year taking over the number 1 spot.

Now, for those of you who thought you were creative with your child's name you might be surprised to find it on one of the 2011 top trending lists. These are the names that saw significant jumps in popularity last year, and are expected to keep moving up the list. There were definitely a few names between the boys and the girls that took me by surprise, check it out.
