When I was a kid, I wanted to buy my parents presents -- with their money of course. Father's Day was no exception.  I picked out what I thought was the perfect gift for my dad, but I think he thought otherwise.

I'm pretty sure I was in 6th grade when my mom and I went to Target and for whatever reason, we were looking at men's clothes.  That's when I saw it -- a navy blue button down shirt with Hawaiian flowers all over it.  I knew that's what I wanted to give my dad.

We bought it, my mom wrapped it up and I gave it to him.  I wish I had paid more attention to his facial expression at the time but looking back he was not thrilled.  I'll give him credit, he wore it a few times and then it conveniently got lost.  I still give him a hard time about it. I know now that if I'm in need of a present for him, I should steer clear of the Hawaiian shirts.  It's just not his style and not really mine either.

What's the worst Father's Day gift you've received or given?
