Yesterday I read James Avery, the actor who played the dad on Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, passed away.  After seeing that, it got me thinking about how many great shows were on when I was a kid.

Friday nights were a big deal at my house.  That's when all the good family-friendly television shows were on. You remember Cory and Topanga from Boy Meets World, Steve Urkel from Family Matters and Uncle Jesse from Full House.  Those characters came through our huge, bulky television sets and brought many families together.

I watched all of those shows on a regular basis and even went back to shows that were older than that. Gilligan's Island, I Love Lucy and Bewitched were some others that I really enjoyed.

I would say my favorite family show of all time is, and forever will be, Full House.  In many ways it was like watching your own family on the tv screen.  All the characters fit so well together and it was just a fun show to watch.  It didn't hurt that Jesse, played by John Stamos, was (and still is) really good looking!

Below is a clip from one of my favorite episodes, where Stephanie gives Jesse a haircut.
