Opie’s Angel Wish – Furnace [AUDIO]

Opie's Angels continues to grant wishes to people in our area that just need a helping hand through the holiday season.

Here's another Opie's Angel Wish.

Dear Opie's Angels,

I'm writing in to nominate my daughter and her family. They are both working but barely making ends meet. Her dad and I help whenever we can - giving them food, gas money and such. Now my grandson needs to have tubes put in his ears again due to multiple ear infections. They have limited medical insurance - not from the state, but even with that, it's not going to be easy for them to pay for it.

Now her furnace is on its last legs. She has had it looked at multiple times, but no one seems to be able to figure out what the problem is and get it fixed. It's old and I worry about my grand babies not having heat this winter. I have looked at my budget and can't find the extra money to help them get it fixed or buy a new one so they can be warm during these long winters.

Yesterday my daughter called me in tears because she felt so helpless. I feel so bad that I am not able to just do this for the kids, but I am tapped out as well. I'm asking for help repairing her furnace or to get her a new furnace if that's what it takes. I would not usually ask for help but we are out of options for them. Please help them make this a warm winter for their family.

Dear Lori,

No one should go cold through the winter. It just happens that Opie knows a thing or two about furnaces. We are going to take care of Ashley's furnace by sending over one of our top technicians to either fix it or replace it with a brand new unit. There's no reason to worry about them being cold this year, we'll have her house warm in no time. We're also going to throw in $100 in groceries, $100 in gas and $100 towards gifts for the kids because we know she has spent so much money already on the furnace that could have gone to buying for the kids.
